North Ramp Aviation is the largest full-service flight school in Vermont. We've been serving the general aviation community for over fifteen years. Our fleet includes eight training aircraft to train students at all levels, from the private pilot rating through the airline transport pilot rating.

Our History

Nick Santo, our chief flight instructor, started North Ramp Aviation in 1995. He ran the business by himself for the first six years of operations. In 2001, with an influx of students and new aircraft, he needed more help, so his wife, Sue Marchant, joined him. Nick and Sue still run the flight school to this day.

Certified Flight Instructors

	Nick Santo ATP, CFI, CFII, MEI Nick started teaching people to fly in 1991. With over 24,000 hours of flight instruction, Nick is the most experienced CFI teaching in Vermont today.
	Laurie Reed CFI, CFII Laurie is the owner of N5446N, our Cessna 182. He has a great deal of experience in high-performance aircraft and instrument flight.
	Ramsey Glass CFI Ramsey started flying in 2000. He became a flight instructor in 2008. With his varied experience, Ramsey is an enthusiastic instructor. Flying with Ramsey is fun!
	Phil Scharf CFI Phil trained with Nick here at North Ramp Aviation for his CFI rating in the summer of 2005. He is an experienced, welcome addition to the North Ramp Aviation family of flight professionals.
	Rob Lowe CFI, CFII Rob is the newest flight instructor on the North Ramp staff, joining the group in October 2010. He has been flying in the Burlington area since 2002 and enjoys quick trips to Saranac Lake for breakfast.
